Eve was the most amazing little girl. She was a 7 pound Maltese. She was born in New York City and had two brothers in her litter. She had short hair, it was short when she was born and never grew long. People often thought she was a long haired chihuahua. She spent a lot of time at work with me. I would take her to the restaurant I managed and leave her in the office while I was working on the floor. She traveled to Puerto Rico with me when she was a few months old. She loved to play and run around the house.

Where did you get her?
I got Eve from a friend. He had 2 Maltese and they had a litter of 3. She was the only girl.
Why did you name her as such?
My friend had already named her and I liked the name Eve so I kept it.
Why did you decide to get a pet? And why her in particular?
She really picked me, she was never social with other people that visited him. But with me she wanted to climb all over me and sit with me whenever I was there. I wasn’t planning to get a dog but I fell in love with her.
What was she like? Describe her personality.
She was always energetic. Loved to run around and play with this one toy in particular. She loved people but would bark at everyone mainly to make herself known.

Can you share a funny moments with her?
One time when she was just a few months old she found a softball on one of our walks. Part of the stitching was loose so she could grab it by the loose cover. It was almost as big as her but she carried it home and played with it forever.
Can you share touching moments with her?
When se was younger she loved to sleep lying on my chest or shoulder. She loved to snuggle.
Did she do any tricks?
I never taught her any tricks.
Was she your first pet?
She was my first pet as an adult. I had pets as a kid but they were family pets.
Was she adopted, found, adopted or bought?
I bought her from my friend.
Did she have pet siblings or other animals that she bonded with?
She had two brothers from her littler. She also had a brother and sister that my husband had when we met - they have since passed. She is survived by her sister Pepper.
What do you miss about her?
I miss absolutely everything about her. She was my world.
